I never finished talking about my whole trip to Uganda. It was hard to finish for many reasons. Love Feeds' 501c3 status is currently pending and we're praying/hoping to get an approval letter any day now. There has been some slow growth and then large bursts of growth. Satan has come so hard against us with warfare, but we shall overcome!! He hates us because we are for God!! BUT, if God is for us, who can be against us!!! Please keep us in your prayers!! As God starts bringing more vision into our ministry, Satan comes at us even harder with attacks!! We are so weak and human, but through our weaknesses, God's strength shines through!!

For those of you who may not know, I've been attending Liberty University Online since January of this year. I'm getting a Bachelor's in Religion and Intercultural Studies. I have completed 4 classes already. One of them was an evangelism class. I receieved a 100 on my "Methods of Evangelism" paper. I'm posting it here to share with anyone who would like to read it....
ONE – Evangelistic Method #1 – <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">The Romans Road is an
“Intellectual” Method of Evangelism. It’s
a simple, direct way to spread the good news.
Why we need salvation, how God provided salvation, how we can receive
salvation, and the results of salvation are all explained in The Romans Road. This method is a “road” through the book of
Romans. First, Romans 3:23, “For all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (KJV) Second, Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is
death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Third, Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his
own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Fourth, Roman 10:9, “If you declare with your
mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved.” And Romans 10:13, “Everyone who calls on the name of
the Lord will be saved.” The last step
contains Romans 5:1; 8:1; 8:38-39, “Therefore, since we have been justified
through faith, we <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">
have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (5:1), “Therefore, there is
now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (8:1), “For I am
convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the
present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything
else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is
in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (8:38-39)

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">The Romans Road has its
advantages and disadvantages. One
advantage is that it is very simple and to the point. It is easy for most people to understand. When I was led to Christ, my pastor’s wife
read The Romans Road to me. I was a
child and I understood. I would say that
one disadvantage to The Romans Road is that often it is too “cut and dry”. Most people use the “Sinner’s Prayer” after
this method. The person witnessing
should make sure to tell the lost person that it’s not the act of saying the
prayer that saves you. To be saved, you
must believe the words in your heart and confess them with your mouth.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">Part
TWO – Evangelistic Method #2 – <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">Servant Evangelism is a
“Relational” Method of Evangelism. Servant
Evangelism can be described as: Demonstrating
the kindness and grace of God by offering to do some act of humble service with no strings attached. While serving, one should also be intentional
about sharing the gospel. As Christians,
we’re to follow Jesus’ example. Jesus
left Heaven and humbled Himself to serve mankind. Matthew 20:28 says, “The Son of Man did not
come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” According to Matthew 25:35-40, when we serve
others, we are also serving Him. Matthew
25:35-40 states, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was
thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me
in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I
was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;"> <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">“Then the righteous
will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and
give you something to drink? When
did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go
to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you,
whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did for me.” (NIV)

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">There are many
advantages to Servant Evangelism, but I will just name a few. When we put love into action by serving
others, they feel loved instead of condemned.
Serving others opens the door to share the gospel with them. Servant Evangelism exemplifies the ministry
model of Jesus. In Philippians 2, we’re
told to have the humble servant attitude of Christ. It is hard for me to see in disadvantages to
this method. I do see that sometimes
Christians can get caught up in serving and lose sight of why they’re
serving. Sometimes people start taking
all the glory and praise for it, when in reality; everything we do should be
for Him and His glory.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">Part
THREE – Evangelistic Method #3 – <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">Door to Door Evangelism
is a “Confrontational” Method. It
is also referred to as the “Door Knocking” Method. There are various ways to use the Door to
Door Method. Generally, a small group of
people from a church will go door to door in their community to witness to the
unsaved, invite them to church, and pray with them. Some churches merge Servant Evangelism and
Door to Door together by offering acts of service when they are going door to
door.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">There are some
advantages and disadvantages to the Door to Door Method. If done in the right way, it can yield great
results. When going door to door, one
must remember to always be polite and show the love of Jesus. One disadvantage is that some people become
too aggressive with their outreach and it intimidates others. This doesn’t produce any fruit. Also, the Door to Door Method can make people
annoyed that you interrupted what they were doing at that time. Some people may even take it as rude. Therefore, they don’t want to hear anything
you have to say.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">Part
FOUR – Application of These Methods to Your Own Life – <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">I
have used two of these three methods in my life. The Door to Door Method was used when I was a
teenager and helped with the bus ministry at my church. We went to neighborhoods throughout our city
searching for children to take to church on Sunday mornings. I remember the door being slammed in our
faces many times. Mostly, I remember the
smiling faces we began picking up every Sunday morning for church. Some of the children’s parents even began
attending. We began seeing some of these
souls saved. A few are still at that
church back in my hometown some fifteen years later.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">Today, the more
appropriate method that suits me is Servant Evangelism. Looking back I can see the signs of a
servant’s heart throughout my life. In
my junior year of high school I was voted “Most Dependable”. Everyone could count on me to help them
out. For a few months after graduating
high school I worked in a nursing home.
I grew to love serving these elderly people. Eleven years, a husband and child later,
evidence of my servant’s heart reappeared.
While planning our move to Nashville, TN I just knew that God had
something big for us here in ministry. I
didn’t know the details, but I knew God did.
After moving here, God led us to an amazing church that I believe has the
heart of Jesus towards the world. They
are all about serving people here and around the world in His name. Less than two years after moving here, God
laid it on my heart to start our non-profit ministry, Love Feeds. The meaning behind the name is that love
feeds needs, whatever they may be. The <span lang="EN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%; mso-ansi-language: EN;">Love Feeds Mission Statement says, “Our mission is to be
more like Christ and feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the
unclothed, look after the sick, and take in the stranger that needs a home. It
is to show the love of Jesus by meeting the needs of the impoverished,
homeless, orphaned, and less fortunate, not only here in America but around the
world.” <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;"> It’s not just about food. It’s about helping meet any need that a
person might have and hopefully leading them to Jesus in the process. Jesus humbled himself to serve others. I believe every single Christian should do
the same. Love reaches more people than
anything else. Non-believers don’t want
to hear how terrible they are. They need
to know that we love them and Jesus does as well. If we go around condemning them, they want
nothing to do with us. We should just
love them like Jesus and let the Holy Spirit do His work to teach them what is
right and what is wrong. Love covers a
multitude of sins. (I Peter 4:8)

It's been super busy around here lately. Plus, it's hard to process things from the trip and decide how/when to talk about them. I think for now i'm just going to stick to chronological order! :)

So, when I last blogged I said I would talk more about the peace I felt after the prayers that were prayed over me on Sunday. I did wake up on Monday morning with great peace. Then, things seemed to get chaotic again! I got up and got ready. I had to be at the airport here in Nashville by 11:30AM to catch a van to Atlanta. On the way to the airport I started getting a little nervous again. I called my dad and started crying, he started crying. Well, it was CRAZY trying to get to the area where the Groome Transportation van was. Guess what!?!?! I saw it and then it left right before I got to it! So, we called the HQ for Groome and they said no problem. I could get on the next van at 12:30 and still get to ATL on time! Whew! So, I said bye to my husband and son and they headed home. (Yes, there were tears by all and hubs said another prayer over me! <3 ) When the next van arrived the driver was very frustrated. He said there were 2 huge traffic jams and we may not make it in time to get to ATL for our flights! Well, I definately started praying!! We left the airport here and I was sitting next to a really nice guy from L.A. He was a director/producer of music videos and commercials. He and I chatted along the ride. It made the ride a lot better! My nerves weren't so terrible. Guess what....the traffic was completely gone!! (except the crazy ATL traffic! HAHA!) We did make it to the ATL airport in time. I met Stormy & Matt at the airport. We had a total of 11 footlockers together and then 2 carry ons each!! When it came time to board the plane, I sat down in the seat and felt complete peace wash over me!! From that point it was pure excitement!!

Stormy became sick on the flight to London. Matt and I were feeling so terrible for her. The food on the flight wasn't great for any of us, but especially her. When we arrived in London she was able to get some meds. We had an 11hour layover. All three of us put chairs together and laid down. We all tried to sleep. We did get more sleep there than we did on the plane. I washed my hair in one of the bathroom sinks. Then, it was time for our flight to Uganda!! Another 8hour flight and we'd be landing in Uganda!! WOW!! Poor Stormy was still sick during the flight but seemed to be getting better towards the end of the flight. Thank God!

So, we were about to land in Uganda!! A trip that we had planned and worked towards for 6 months!! Christie and George would be there waiting at the airport. We were so excited. When we landed we were so ready to see Christie and George. We went through customs, picked up all of our luggage, and then we saw Christie and George! George's mom was with them as well! It was awesome!! Then, the fun part of trying to get those 11 footlockers and our carryons in the van, along with ourselves !! We were like sardines but we were so happy to be there!! We stopped and had breakfast. Then headed to the village. We had no idea there was such an amazing welcome waiting on us in the village!!! Stay tuned...... ;)
First, I wanted to talk about some things that happened just before the trip. So, if you're interested in that part, read on! :) If not, sorry! ;)

The week before our trip was total chaos around our house! I had several people want to send packages at the last minute (did NOT mind because it meant more stuff for the village!), several things I still needed to get for the trip, and 2 big events the weekend before we left on Monday (June 13). Plus, we just moved 2-3 weeks prior to the trip and that added a bit of stress as well! Oh, who am I kidding?? A BIT of stress?? Try a LOT of stress!! HA!!

The week before our trip my husband emailed the elders/pastors of our church about the trip. He emailed them to ask for prayer for me and the trip. I went back and read the email. Oh my goodness!! Reading it just melted my heart for my husband even more!! It is awesome to read something good your spouse says about you to others!! Anyways, I had a call from one of our pastors to set up an appointment with the head missions pastor to talk about the trip and he wanted to give advice from his many experiences abroad. So, of course I agreed! :) Mick is such an awesome, loving guy!! He loves all people, everywhere!! I enjoyed the time spent talking with him and learning from him. I have agreed to another meeting with him soon. One of the greatest things he advised was an "intercessory prayer team" for us while on our trip. A HUGE THANK YOU to those who agreed to be a part of that team!! He also asked for me to come down on Sunday morning after service to be prayed over. Of course, I agreed!! You can never have too much prayer right??!!?! So, after service on Sunday (an amazing time of worship with Michael W. Smith & a great message!!) I went down for prayer. They talked with me and prayed over me. They annointed me with oil in the same way that the priests were annointed in the Old Testament when they were sent out to minister to the people. WHAT?!?! I was in awe of the prayers they prayed over me and being annointed in that way. I don't feel like i'm anywhere near a priest, pastor, or anything close!! I just took things to people in need and loved on some precious children and others while there! I guess Love is the ultimate ministry, God IS LOVE! I pray that God is pleased with me. He judges the heart, men judge through clouded windows and outward appearance!

So, as I mentioned, Michael W. Smith led worship at my church the day before our trip. I go to Belmont Church here in Nashville. MWS started out at our church and has a great relationship with the elders/pastors in our church. During the worship time, I spent a lot of time praying about the trip and the fears that I had. MWS said he felt God leading him to sing a song that wasn't on the set list. I'm going to post the video for it. It's called "Rise". He changed some of the lyrics up and was calling the church out to Rise and Shine and go forth. This song was definately what I needed!! I broke down. I was so overwhelmed with different emotions about the trip. After I was prayed over, I felt complete peace!! I will blog more about that peace on the journey to Uganda and about our time in Uganda soon. Love to you all!!
They DIE!!"This is the first blog post other than the one for the raffle. There's still more to be added to the blog page such as links to important pages. BUT... I have felt the need to write this blog for a week or so now. Stormy, Matt, and I are 9 days away from leaving for Uganda. Satan doesn't like it!! ("Pansy!"- Christie Magera) Each of us have had a lot of overwhelming things going on in our lives. There have been moments where I have broken down and wondered why in the world does God have me doing anything for HIM!?!? Who am I?? BUT I say "HERE I AM!!". So many other emotional/spiritual battles as well as personal battles within finances and things like that. So, now onto what the title of the blog is all about!!......

Last Sunday I stopped by a yard sale on the way back from the store. I picked up some children's clothes for the village. As I was paying for them I told the lady what I was getting them for and asked if she'd like to donate any if she had any left when she was finished. Then her elderly husband came out and said (in his old southern grumpy voice) "Where did you say you were goin?" I told him Uganda. He said "Well, what you wanna go over there for???" I told him about having a friend (Christie Magera) who is a missionary there and 2 friends and I are going to help for a little while, etc. I told him about all of the things God has done through her and her husband (George Magera). He said "Well I wouldn't go over there! If I was goin anywhere in Africa, it'd be South Africa!" I told him that I will go wherever God sends me. Then, he said something I wasn't expecting! He said, "You know, some missionaries go over there and don't come back! They DIE!!" WOW!! Yes, I know that. I mean, i've read about things like that, saw movies about it happening. He just sounded so harsh. So, I was fighting back tears. I was trying to stay strong in front of him. I told him, "You're right but whatever God's will is, so be it!" I walked away after telling the lady thank you again. I got to my car and broke down!! The devil knows our weaknesses and uses them against us anytime he gets the chance. Then a thought occurred to me!! I would rather die doing something for God than die just sitting there!! Too many in the Body of Christ just spend their time living everyday in their little box and going to church on Sundays acting like no one else in the world exists and that God didn't command us all to spread the Gospel. They act like there's not thousands of children dying every single day from preventable causes. I'M NOT OK WITH THIS!!!!!!!!! How can any Christian be?? WAKE UP CHURCH!!! So many want to say Jesus is coming at any moment BUT we haven't completed what He has called us to do!! He said that the Gospel will be preached to every tribe, tongue, and nation. We better get busy!!! We have a LOT of work to do!!! I know that not everyone can physically go to other countries BUT you can support those who do and those who do work there!! You can make an impact on the nations for HIM!! It's not just about your neighbor next door or down the street. It's about your neighbors all around the world!! The world will know us (Christians) by our LOVE!! They will know us by how well we shine HIS love all around!! So, I leave you with a song that I'm singing....

"Here I Am" by Downhere

Sometimes your calling, comes in dream
Sometimes it comes in the Spirit's breeze,
You reach for the deepest part of me,
And call out for the things of eternity.

But I'm a man, of dust and stains,
You move in me, so I can say,

CHORUS:
Here I am, Lord send me,
All of my life, I make an offering,
Here I am, Lord send me,
Somehow my story, Is part of your plan,
Here I am

When setbacks and failures, and upset plans,
Test my faith and leave me with empty hands,
Are you not the closest when it's hardest to stand?
I know that you will finish what you began.

These broken parts you redeem,
Become the song, that I can sing
(Chorus)

Overwhelmed by the thought of my weakness,
And the fear that I'll fail you in the end,
In this mess, I'm just one of the pieces,
I can't put this together but you can.
